Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 18, 2026
Welcome to Shabbat Unplugged.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Shabbat-Unplugged.com, our dashboard, website widget, JavaScript embed, related services, and any other features we provide (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, installing our widget, using our website, purchasing a subscription, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About Shabbat Unplugged
Shabbat Unplugged provides website display and scheduling tools that allow website owners to show a Shabbat and Jewish holiday closure screen during selected times.
The Service is designed to help website owners create a respectful online closure experience for visitors during Shabbat and selected holidays.
Shabbat Unplugged is a technology provider only. We do not provide legal, financial, privacy, accessibility, tax, religious, rabbinic, or halachic advice.
2. Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Your website
- Your business activity
- Your products and services
- Your customers and visitors
- Your legal compliance
- Your privacy compliance
- Your cookie compliance
- Your accessibility compliance
- Your payment systems
- Your booking systems
- Your chat widgets
- Your third-party tools
- Your religious and halachic decisions
Shabbat Unplugged provides a website closure layer and scheduling tool. We do not guarantee that using the Service fully satisfies any legal, religious, halachic, accessibility, regulatory, privacy, or business requirement.
You should consult your own legal, privacy, accessibility, technical, and rabbinic advisors where appropriate.
3. No Rabbinic Certification
Shabbat Unplugged is not a rabbinic certification agency.
Any badge, verification page, label, or status shown by Shabbat Unplugged means only that the website is using our technology and has selected certain closure settings.
It does not mean that the business, website, owner, products, services, or operations are certified by any rabbinic authority.
4. Website Closure Layer
The Service works by displaying a Shabbat or holiday closure screen on participating websites according to the settings selected by the website owner.
The Service is designed for normal website visitors.
The Service is not a server-level security system, military-grade access control tool, payment firewall, or legal compliance system.
Because the Service may operate through JavaScript and website-level display technology, determined users, disabled scripts, custom browsers, direct API access, cached pages, third-party apps, or technical workarounds may affect how the closure layer appears or functions.
5. SEO-Safe Design
Shabbat Unplugged is designed to avoid common SEO mistakes such as intentionally creating 404 pages, adding noindex tags, or taking websites offline.
However, we do not guarantee any specific search ranking, indexing outcome, traffic result, visibility result, or SEO performance.
Search engines and third-party platforms control their own crawling, indexing, ranking, preview, and display behavior.
You remain responsible for your website’s SEO strategy and performance.
6. Accessibility
Shabbat Unplugged aims to build its closure screen with accessibility best practices in mind, including clear text, readable layouts, mobile-friendly design, and visitor-friendly structure.
However, we do not guarantee full compliance with any accessibility law, regulation, or standard.
Your website’s accessibility obligations remain your responsibility.
7. Cookies and Third-Party Tools
Shabbat Unplugged does not intend to place advertising, retargeting, or behavioral tracking cookies through the closure widget.
Your own website may still use cookies, analytics tools, chat widgets, accessibility widgets, payment tools, booking tools, or third-party scripts.
Those tools are controlled by you or your service providers, not by Shabbat Unplugged.
You remain responsible for your own cookie notices, privacy policy, consent requirements, and third-party scripts.
8. Account Registration
To use certain features, you may need to create an account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
You must notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
9. Website Workspaces and Domain Use
Each website must be added as a separate website workspace.
Each website workspace may have its own:
- Website URL
- Plan
- Settings
- Embed code
- Verification status
Embed codes are intended to work only on the approved website domain connected to that workspace.
You may not copy, resell, share, or use an embed code on unauthorized websites.
We may block, suspend, or disable embed codes used on unauthorized domains.
10. Free Plan
The Free Plan may include Shabbat Unplugged branding, links, badges, or attribution.
Free Plan attribution may not be removed, hidden, altered, or obstructed.
We may change the Free Plan features at any time.
11. Paid Plans
Paid plans provide additional features, such as custom branding and other Pro features, depending on the plan selected.
Subscriptions are billed monthly unless otherwise stated.
Fees are charged through our payment provider.
You authorize us and our payment provider to charge your selected payment method for recurring subscription fees.
12. Cancellations and Downgrades
You may cancel your subscription according to the cancellation process available in your account or through our payment provider.
When a paid subscription is canceled, your website may remain on the paid plan until the end of the current billing period.
After the billing period ends, the website may revert to the Free Plan.
If your website reverts to the Free Plan, the closure screen may continue to function with Shabbat Unplugged branding.
13. Past Due Payments
If payment fails or becomes past due, we may notify you, retry payment, limit access to paid features, or downgrade your website to the Free Plan.
We are not responsible for loss of custom branding, settings, or paid features caused by failed payments.
14. Done-For-You Setup
Done-For-You Setup is an optional one-time service.
The setup fee includes up to one hour of installation help, unless otherwise stated.
Additional time may be billed at the stated hourly rate.
You are responsible for providing access, permissions, or screen-sharing needed to complete the setup.
If you provide website login access, you are responsible for ensuring that access is appropriate, temporary, and authorized.
We do not request or require permanent access to your website.
15. Customer Content
You may upload or provide content such as logos, screenshots, colors, messages, business information, and website details.
You represent that you have the right to use and upload this content.
You grant Shabbat Unplugged permission to use this content only as needed to provide the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.
16. Verification Badge and Public References
The Service may include a verification badge or attribution link showing that a website uses Shabbat Unplugged.
By using the Service, you allow us to display a badge, link, or verification status on your website according to your plan.

19. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third-party services for payments, hosting, timing data, email, authentication, or other functionality.
We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, errors, pricing changes, or terms.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
20. Intellectual Property
